Twenty-one years ago, The Waterberry was among the first to serve coffee drinkers on the North Coast. It has survived the setbacks of two fires and the damage of a fallen Waterberry tree to set the standard for incoming competitors to the area. Adjoining a restful, indigenous forest, it remains one of the most pleasing spots for coffee, confectionery or breakfasts and light lunches –  its longevity is ample evidence that it maintains its appeal.

The menu is impressive for all tastes and times of day. There is parking for 30 or more vehicles and the premises has generous natural light due to large windows and high ceilings. For those favouring the tranquillity of rich greenery just a touch away, there is a deck and a patio, adding a calming element to the coffee experience.

The first tasting of espresso and cappuccino was good, the second spectacular: full bodied and muscular. So much so, in fact, that it prompted a question to the barista as to where the beans were sourced. They became a personal preference.    Wi-Fi is available.
