Upon seeing the bright yellow VW kombi on the road side, HAPPY is the word that comes to mind when you set foot into a coffee shop aptly named My Happy Place. The kombi, which sits outside the venue,  was originally a mobile coffee shop but when it became too busy and too popular, the coffee shop’s permanent space was created. But the kombi is a reminder of the swinging 60s and carefree days of sun, sea and surfing .

As we entered this café with its stripped wood flooring and eclectic décor, we were immediately greeted by the aroma of coffee and warm friendly staffers

Our espresso, accompanied by a glass of iced water, had a rich amber crema which left a soft bitter sweet taste on the pallet. Our cappuccino had a beautifully sweet glossy foam that held to the last sip and was equally satisfying. Coffee used is Mpenjati

This is a warm and friendly restaurant set in lush surroundings. Service is good and parking is ample. Wi-Fi is available, meaning it’s work friendly. As it happens, it’s also dog friendly.

Their menu catered for every taste, for the hungry and just peckish alike. On offer are muffins, cakes and various breakfast options to Buddha bowls . My Happy Place lives up to its name and is definitely worth a visit when traveling to our beautiful South Coast.
