Jaxx, a popular favourite with Tweni locals, has cosy indoor seating, there’s even a fireplace –  a unique feature on the South Coast – and an expansive outdoor deck offering expansive ocean views.

For a restaurant/coffee shop to excel, a few things need to come together. Obviously, the food is one. The location and vibe are two more. But having attentive and friendly staff is the X-factor. This place ticks all those boxes.

Be warned – the smell of freshly roasted coffee lures you, like a snake charmer, to the coffee corner located inside the restaurant.

Watching the well-trained, gloved barista at work constructing my cappuccino was captivating stuff. The end result was a perfectly brewed espresso and a cappy that was smooth, well-flavoured and boasted exceptional latte art. Almost too pretty to drink.

According to our delightful waitress, “everything is good here,” when asked about food recommendations, she carefully talked us through the comprehensive menu.

It’s vegetarian friendly with vegan and gluten-free options. The pizza take-away section was kept on the hop. JAXX also offers Wi-Fi and is wheelchair and pet friendly.

Jaxx is rated tops by its loyal patrons for the best thin-based pizzas on the coast. I have to agree.
