Mark Gold’s coffee shop is a legend in its time, winning top spot four times in the Sunday Tribune’s Great Cappuccino Hunt competition.
The coffee shop was, to all sense and purposes, a vanity project for the Gorrie brothers who initially established their exclusive jewellery store around 30 years ago. The coffee shop was added in 1999. The venue is now entirely owned by Dean Gorrie. Like their jewellery, the coffee shop offers a stylish environment, sophisticated light cafe food prepared with attention to detail, classy crockery, gorgeous flower table settings and friendly but discreet service. Their menu is simple but appealing, the ingredients top class.
It was the perfect venue to meet up with a fellow coffee aficionado. It served a beautifully flavoured espresso while the cappuccino was one of the best I’d tasted in the competition. It had a good ratio of creamy froth to coffee, which was full-bodied.
Wi-Fi is available.
