Cafe Sparrow is located in Hamilton Office Park on Old Main Road, Gillitts and offers ample safe and shady parking.

The café is set apart from the main office park and has a lovely wooden deck overlooking a small lake which attracts a huge number of birds. The lake, coupled with the many surrounding trees, adds to its tranquil feel.

The cafe is very attractive, offering contemporary decor with clean and stylish design. Staffers are friendly and efficient.

The barista was kept busy and I watched, with interest, as a stream of coffees went through his hands, all with consistently excellent latte art. I waited in anticipation for my espresso and cappuccino.

The cappuccino had thick, well textured milk and the beautiful latte art I had already seen.  But sadly, the flavour was a bit disappointing! It lacked a full bodied flavour and did not have that full mouth feel satisfaction I was hoping for.

The espresso was thin and lacked crema on top (under extracted). Perhaps the barista was under too much pressure that day. But don’t be put off as, apart from the appeal of the gorgeous venue, Sparrow offers a varied and extensive menu of delicious-sounding breakfasts, light lunches plus main meals such as pizzas, burgers and steaks.
