3603 is situated on the old Gillitts Post Office premises. Its name is inspired by the postal code for Gillitts. The old red post boxes have been preserved inside the cafe which add a little fun retro nostalgia to the pleasant decor and chilled vibe.
The morning we visited it was busy, but they were more than happy that we only ordered coffee. Service was friendly and efficient.
The espresso arrived in the correct sized cup but lacked crema. The flavour was good, better than I expected. The cappuccino (also in the correct sized cup and at the correct temperature) had a thin layer of micro-textured foam and average latte art. The flavour was fairly good, but lacked that full mouth feel. Beans are Coastal Coffee’s Continental blend
3603 has made a name for itself in offering innovative light cafe food with attention to taste and presentation. They offer all-day breakfasts, open sandwiches, toasties, salads and house specials. The dinner menu, a la carte, is particularly interesting and different.
There is parking outside on the shopping centre’s premises.
