Strangers Coffee is a beautiful and peaceful location off Cowey Road in Morningside, behind Smokin’ Joe’s.  As you walk in, you are greeted with tasteful décor and friendly servers. The barista seemed to also be the owner of the shop. He was quite reserved until we started talking about coffee and then I saw a glint in his eye. He is very passionate about coffee and this came through in the coffee he delivered.

The cappuccino had a good consistency and was well balanced from a flavour profile perspective. The milk was well textured and the ratio of coffee to milk was good. The espresso was a touch on the bitter side, but perfectly acceptable.

There is ample parking. This is also a good location for doing work as the shop’s vibe is laid back rather than frenetic. This would definitely be a chilled spot to have your coffee and relax. There was no music on the day I visited.

Strangers offers an extensive breakfast menu with mezze platters and other interesting options for brunch etc.
