Perfectly located along Umhlanga Rocks’ bustling high street, Chartwell Drive, Tiki Tonga is a little slice of coffee heaven. A favourite among joggers and walkers in the area, this cozy coffee bar is perfect for quick meetings, friendly catchups, or for simply unwinding in the afternoon with a book or laptop. With a simple, no-fuss menu, it’s an easy-going spot that serves exceptional coffee. This coffee shop reminded me of those small creative coffee bars in cities such as Boston. There’s more than one barista, and they’re always in conversation with customers, shouting jokes across the floor.
Their coffee must be tasted by all in Umhlanga. The cappuccino, to be precise, was one of my best. I ordered a second cup to test the consistency, and it looked exactly the same — both cups prepared by different baristas. Now that is impressive.
The staff are incredibly friendly and will even remember your name on your next visit.
