Planted Coffee Shop is located in an industrial section of Pietermaritzburg. There is ample seating with Wi-Fi plus secure parking. The menu includes baked goods, omelettes and other  breakfast options plus waffles and wraps. Decor is clean, simple and contemporary.

Coffee was disappointing. It wasn’t balanced, and quite watery with not much texture from milk. The coffee was definitely getting burnt in the extraction process and was quite bitter in taste (especially with the espresso). But let’s be honest here. If you are getting your car serviced in the area in which the coffee shop finds itself and you are wanting a caffeine hit,  then it will the right spot – although I would probably not recommend Planted if you are looking for a high quality brew. Perhaps their filter coffee might be a better option?
