Having recently moved to the North Coast, it’s hard to miss the Sky hype – and, as luck would have it, I was asked to judge up here for the Battle of The Beans coffee competition. Skyline was on my list.
So, armed with an “I’ll be the judge of that” attitude I walked into this very busy cafe.
When I arrived, I joined a small queue that moved fast. I seemed to be the only person that wasn’t there yesterday (or the day before) hence the barista had to actually ask me what I wanted.I was an outsider.
Everyone was smiling and chatting and it was immediately obvious that this was a club. My coffees (espresso and cappuccino) arrived within minutes. Perfectly textured milk on the cappuccino, while both cups boasted strong flavours and were served at the ideal temperature. I slid my espresso back in two easy sips, washing it down with a small glass of sparkling water.
I walked back to the end of the queue and the barista said: “Same again” and just like that I was part of the club.
Some days I don’t get to Sky, but those days are few and far between. The coffee is consistently great and that’s all you want in a cafe.
A nice selection of food is on offer – Darren is something of a foodie – plus fresh pastries served directly from the oven.
Fast WiFi is available plus plenty of parking, all perfect for a “Coffice”
