The whole Point Precinct keeps undergoing plastic surgery and many businesses open and close there in the blink of an eye. Maha opened to coincide with the opening of the very busy (and I hope profitable) Nelson Mandela Passenger Terminal for the MSC cruise ships. It also serves as an eatery for the guests staying at the trendy Point Bay apartments which are located above the restaurant.

Clean, sleek and bordering on minimalist, Maha is the place to see and be seen in the waterfront area. Everyone hangs out there. It’s the perfect place to catch some eThekwini aldermen if you are in need of a quick decision. The ambience is awesome, the staff are friendly and informed and their own coffee brand Maha brew hits the spot . A little dear at R45 a cuppa for a cappy, but I honestly can’t fault it apart from the too-large cup sizes. Nice foam, great temperature and an all-round good taste. I always like coming to Maha, it is worth the trek to Point. Wi-Fi available.
